What is the Mission of D1RT?

The mission of Spartanburg D1RT is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ, promote Christian development and discipleship and provide quality Biblical instruction to every student in Spartanburg School District 1 and present the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

What is the Goal of D1RT?

We feel honored and blessed to serve the students of Spartanburg District 1. By arming our young people with the Biblical truths necessary to face challenges on a daily basis, D1RT is able to deliver the Word Of God to our students and is making a difference in their lives. We can only accomplish these goals with the prayers, encouragement and financial help of dedicated Christians. Thank you for all your support.

When did D1RT start?

D1RT started in the fall of 2005, teaching Bible classes devotionally to Mabry Middle, Campobello-Gramling and Landrum Middle. We were excited to add and start teaching Chapman High School and Landrum High School academically in the fall of 2009.

When & where does D1RT take place?

Students in the 7th and 8th grades are released from school during an elective class 1 day each week to attend our Bible classes at nearby cooperating church's. Our Bible 1 and Bible 2 High School classes are High School electives which meet daily for 90 minutes at nearby cooperating churchs. High School students get up to 2 elective Carnegie units of high school credit for an academic study of the Bible. 

How is D1RT funded?

D1RT is funded by financial support through businesses, churches and individuals that realize the vital role of Biblical education for our youth. D1RT has the major expenses of teachers, drivers, gas, buses, insurance and materials. D1RT also takes a host of volunteers and the use of facilities and buses from churches to ensure the students get the chance to study the Bible.

Who is D1RT for?

Our students come to us from a wide variety of backgrounds. We have student's who attend churchs of many denominations and students who do not attend and my church. We accept all races, nationalities, religions and all educational abilities.
